HoopRankr ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and related services.

By using HoopRankr, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you disagree, please do not use the app.

Personal Information

• Name and profile information
• Email address and phone number
• Username, password, and profile photo
• Birthday and age group (for COPPA compliance)

Game & Performance Data

• Game results, scores, and outcomes
• Rankings and leaderboard positions
• League participation and stats
• Win/loss streaks and performance history

Device & Usage Information

• Device type, model, and operating system
• App usage patterns and feature interactions
• Crash reports and performance diagnostics
• Push notification token (for game alerts)

• Power the ranking and matchmaking systems
• Display your stats, leaderboard position, and game history
• Connect you with nearby players and games
• Send game invites, match alerts, and important notifications
• Detect cheating, abuse, and fraudulent behavior
• Enforce our Terms of Service and community standards
• Improve app performance and develop new features
• Provide customer support

With your explicit permission, HoopRankr collects location data to enhance your experience.

You can disable location access at any time in your device Settings → Privacy → Location Services → HoopRankr. The app remains functional without location, but nearby discovery features will be limited.

We may share limited information in these situations:

• Publicly: Username, stats, rankings, and gameplay data visible on the platform
• Service Providers: Hosting, analytics, SMS verification, email, and advertising partners who are contractually bound to protect your data
• Legal Requirements: If required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of users

HoopRankr integrates the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

• Twilio — SMS verification and notifications
• SendGrid — Email verification and communications
• Google AdMob — Advertising (free tier users)
• Apple In-App Purchases — Pro Pass subscriptions
• Google Cloud Storage — Media and highlight storage

These providers may use device identifiers and similar technologies in accordance with their own policies.

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), hashed passwords, and access controls. However, no digital system is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password and to notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.

You have control over your data:

• Access and update your profile information anytime in Settings
• Control profile visibility (private/public) and stats display
• Disable location access via device settings
• Opt out of marketing communications
• Delete your account from the app (Settings → Delete Account)

Note: Deleting your account removes login access, but some historical data may be retained to maintain platform integrity (see Section 9).

If you delete or deactivate your account, your profile will be deactivated and hidden. However, we may retain certain data to ensure fair rankings and prevent abuse:

• Game history and match outcomes
• Rankings and leaderboard contributions
• Opponent records

HoopRankr uses automated systems — including image and video analysis — to detect and prevent inappropriate or unsafe content. Content may be removed and accounts may be restricted or terminated for violations. We do not guarantee all content will be reviewed prior to publication.

HoopRankr is not intended for users under 13 years old. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If we discover this has occurred, the account will be removed immediately.

Users aged 13–17 must provide verifiable parental consent to use the app. Parents may contact us at any time to request data removal.

HoopRankr is operated from the United States. If you use the app from outside the US, your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using HoopRankr, you consent to this transfer.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through an in-app notice. Continued use of HoopRankr after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
